Vienna Cargo Day Highlights the Industry's Challenges and Opportunities
In addition to the digitization of cargo handling and sustainable logistics solutions, artificial intelligence in supply chain management is one of the top current trends in the air cargo industry. Consequently, guests at Vienna Cargo Day were given a detailed overview of potential applications for AI, as well as its impact on efficiency and innovation.
Highlights included presentations by experts such as Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA, Sebastian Kummer from the University of Vienna, and Sam Okpro from Pro Air Consulting. Additionally, a panel discussion on market developments and economic forecasts in the global air cargo industry provided participants with further opportunities for discussion, the exchange of experiences, and the establishment of new contacts.
Exclusive insights into the positive development of cargo volumes and routes, as well as the future prospects of Vienna as a cargo hub, rounded out the day. Following a brief welcome by Ralph Rösener, Manager of Cargo Business Development at Flughafen Wien Group, Dr. Günther Ofner, CEO of Flughafen Wien Group, highlighted the airport’s significance as an international hub in his opening remarks; guests were then provided with information on current developments and plans for the air cargo hub.
